Are you an Alexa user with a Nest Doorbell, Thermostat, or other Google-made smart home products? As of September 29th, Google will no longer support the original Nest Skills for Alexa system. This change will prevent Alexa from communicating with Nest hardware in older smart homes. Thankfully, the solution is pretty straightforward—migrate your Nest account to a Google account, delete the old Nest Alexa skill, remove all of your Nest products from the Alexa app, and install the new Google Nest Alexa skill from the Google Home app.
