Sonos today announced its latest and greatest portable speaker, combining the best of its original Move from 2019 and the latest Era 300. The all-new Sonos Move 2 is a next-gen speaker packing spacious stereo sound, plenty of features, and up to 24 hours of battery life, so it's always ready for a party or adventure.

The flagship portable speaker has a similar design as the original, only the high-end audio brand added a slew of enhancements inside and out. It's the first Sonos portable speaker with stereo sound thanks to dual-angled tweeters, not to mention a durable and water-resistant design and redesigned controls for ease of use. It is ready to raise the bar for portable sound.

According to its press release, the new Sonos Move 2 is better in every way, starting with the upgraded controls many enjoy on the Era 100 and 300 line. I'm talking about the new volume slider, upgraded buttons, and Sonos voice controls. Unlike the original, the Move 2 offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, giving you more flexibility during playback.

On the rear, you'll find a built-in handle and a USB-C port for easy charging and line-in audio. This means you don't always have to use the magnetic charging base, and it can quickly recharge phones and other gadgets over USB-C. However, you'll need to buy the Sonos line-in adapter if you're looking to connect it to a computer or turntable.

Other specs include IP56 for shock and water resistance, a fast-pair Bluetooth button, three class-D digital amplifiers, and a mid-woofer for improved audio and deeper bass. The speaker also packs far-field microphones for advanced beamforming and accurate voice controls. And yes, it features Sonos' Automatic Trueplay tuning. More importantly, it now features a hardware mic switch on the rear for those who'd rather have some privacy.

Perhaps the most significant upgrade is in the battery department. Instead of only 9-10 hours of playback on the original, the new Move 2 offers up to 24 hours from a single charge. Then, like many other Sonos products, it features a replaceable battery.

The Sonos Move 2 is available in Black, White, and a new Olive green colorway. It'll be available starting September 20th for $449.
