Sennheiser's popular AMEBO Soundbar Plus is now available in a compact form factor. The AMEBO Soundbar Mini measures just 27.5 inches wide and does not include a subwoofer, but it promises deep bass, robust spatial audio support, and convenient music streaming over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It's available today for $800—yeah, more expensive than the average compact soundbar, but a reasonable price for those who appreciate Sennheiser audio.

The AMEBO Soundbar Mini is about half the size of its bigger sibling, the AMEBO Soundbar Plus. Still, it's packed with advanced spatial audio features, including support for 7.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos virtualization, DTS:X, MPEG-H, and Sony's 360 Reality Audio. There are plenty of cheap soundbars that offer these same features, but AMEBO Soundbar Mini's advanced room calibration software helps it stand out from the crowd. This soundbar uses four integrated mics to measure room acoustics and adjust spatial audio quality accordingly, meaning that it should offer a punchy and accurate representation of virtualized multi-channel audio (at least when compared to cheaper spatial audio soundbars).

Of course, Sennheiser also promises premium audio quality. The AMEBO Soundbar Mini contains four full-range drivers and four subwoofers, which are powered by 250 watts of Class D amplification. While the subwoofers are obviously a bit small (four inches each), they can reproduce sub-bass frequencies down to 43Hz—Sennheiser says that you don't need to pair this soundbar with a dedicated subwoofer, which is probably true in small rooms or casual viewing environments. But if you want detailed bass that you can really feel, a wireless AMEBO Sub is almost certainly a necessity.

This soundbar is compatible with the Sennheiser Smart Control app, so you can control its settings from your smartphone. It also features Alexa Built-in for voice commands and smart home integration, plus Wi-Fi streaming through Chromecast, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. While Sennheiser hasn't revealed the AMEBO Soundbar Mini's full port selection, it confirms that the soundbar has an eARC port.

You'll be able to buy the AMEBO Soundbar Mini for $800... whenever it appears on the company's online store, anyway. It's significantly more affordable than its larger sibling, the $1,500 Soundbar Plus. Again, if you want theatrical bone-shaking bass, you should pair the AMEBO Soundbar Mini with an AMEBO Sub.
