Log Out of Reddit on iPhone and Android

To sign out of your user account in Reddit’s mobile app, all you have to do is tap an option in the app menu. This option removes your account from the app, and you can then use a different account or keep the app login-less. That's right, you can use the Reddit app without logging in to browse articles and subreddits. You'll simply miss out on features like saved subreddits, customized feeds, and the ability to comment on content (or save the content for later).

After you log out, of course, the next time you want to use your account in the app, you’ll have to enter your Reddit username and password. This ensures only you can use your account in the app.

To start the process, launch Reddit on your phone. In the app’s top-right corner, tap your profile icon.

In the open menu, next to your username, tap the down-arrow icon. This icon is above the orange "Create Avatar" button.

You’ll see an "Accounts" menu. In this menu, next to your username, tap the right-arrow icon (not the checkmark icon).

In the prompt that opens, choose "Log Out."

And that’s it. Reddit will log you out of your account in the app. You can now use the app without logging in to any account, add a new account into the app, or use the same account if you want.

Sign Out of Reddit on Desktop

If you access Reddit via the platform’s desktop website, you also have an easy-to-use option to log out of your account. This option is located inside a menu, so you won’t see it directly on any Reddit web page.

To start the process, open your preferred web browser on your computer and launch Reddit.com. In the site’s top-right corner, click your username.

In the menu that opens, scroll all the way down. (Yes, the option is at the bottom---Reddit doesn’t want you to use the site without being logged in.)

At the bottom of the menu, select "Log Out."

You can clear Reddit’s saved cookies in your specific web browser, which will sign you out of your account on the site.

How you clear your cookies depends on the web browser you’re using. Here are the instructions for four major web browsers. Make sure the Reddit site is open when you follow these steps:
